You feel the soul of Bornholm

When you walk in Slotslyngen along the brink of the steep, rocky wall, the sea below and Hammershus Castle in the distance, you feel it to the marrow of your bones.

The windswept, heather-clad heath with the grazing sheep.  The warped trees.  And the rocks, of course, worn round by various ice ages.

In Slotslyngen you feel the soul of Bornholm.  You taste it in our craft liquor.

For in this very landscape, wild and primeval, we gather berries and flowers as well as inspiration for our production back in our small distillery in Rønne.

Our ambition is for you to get the smell and taste of Bornholm in every single product from Bornholm Distillery.  And that you feel the spirit of Slotslyngen when you uncork the bottle.

In 2017, when Martin Kofoed first established his small distillery in Rønne, he called it Østersøens Brænderi. As the demand for his gin spread abroad, the name was less suitable, therefore we changed it to Bornholm Distillery. But our production is still located in the distillery in Rønne.

And we are still driven by Martin’s ambition to develop gin of outstanding quality and revive the proud liquor traditions of Bornholm. Martin was born and raised in the island, and he is imbued with a life-long love of the history and landscapes of Bornholm. This you taste in our craft liquor.
